Competition Rules La Rueda Mundial de Casino

A  Application requirements

1. To keep the competition attractive for our audience, we try to avoid that the same title song of a choreography is been used by another team. Participating teams needs to declare at application the title of the songs as well as the orchester’s names.  First come, first come first serve basis. We highly recommend to prepare as well a second choreography with a different music for the finals.
2.Rueda Teams need to sent a recent photo of high quality and an brief example of their expertise on Youtube via video clip
3. Furthermore all group members must be mentioned in the application, as well as the cantante and the choreograph.
4. Every team can also declare 1 extra couple to replace a couple or an injured group member.
You can’t just add the couple, only replace one!
5. Every team needs to provide headquater with their national anthym, national flagg and must put on the men’s shoulders backside visible their countries name in English or Spanish.

B Team & Choreography requirements

1.Obligatory any rueda team must have minimum 4 couples presenting a rueda choreography,although we highly recommend to compete with at least 5 couples, but maximum 8 couples.
2.The choreography must be at least 3:00 minutes however maximum 4:00 minutes long.
3. The choreography must be at least 75 per cent with Cuban Music.

C Judging terms

1. In the preliminaries heats, judges are giving marks from 0 (not at all) to 10 (excellent)
2. Judging  the choreography’s  crierias are A dynamic  /  B technic  / C creativity
3. The finals (2-3 teams) are definitively only decided by public vote and strictly with election ballots.
4. Every event participant has only 1 vote.
5. Due to the fact that the entire Cuban Salsa community takes part at the decision making, and preliminaries are hold worldwide, and that the audience alone votes, the winners of the Rueda World Championships are representative true World Champions of people’s choice, and may keep the title for one year.

D No judge of the competiton can at the same time be part of a competing rueda team, not as a dancer, cantante, instructor nor choreograph.

E Disqualification

1. Competeing rueda teams shake hands before and after every match!
2.Any inappropriate misconduct of any team member has as a result the disqualification of the entire rueda team.
3. Any misconduct against any judge will lead to disqualification of the entire rueda team.

F Public relations

To make this project known to everybody we need to communicate it to the press, media agents and VIPs. For this we are videotaping, or broadcasting it on TV, the entire championships in order to promote it and as well as to merchandise,  to recover our expenses. Any participant confirms and accepts by signing to the Rueda World Championships, giving the authorization to the organizers of the event, the free use of any video material for promotional or merchandise purposes.
